Bob Woolsey
Posted on June 5th, 2008
Bob Woolsey was born in the mysterious wilderness of northern British Columbia. There he learned to skate and shovel snow before the age of three. An avid athlete, Bob grew up playing hockey and other sports. His hobbies include algebra, sleuthing, and the reading of classical literature. In 2005 he attended the writing for film and television program at the Vancouver Film School where he met friend and often collaborator, Andrew Menzies.
Together Bob and Andrew have created a podcast series very originally named the Bob and Andrew show. They write sketches and other comedy together, as you know because you’re on this website. Bob’s favourite shows are The Hour, The Rick Mercer Report, Battlestar Galactica, Seinfeld, The Office, The Wire, Extras, Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, Entourage, Deadwood and Curb Your Enthusiasm. He listens to folk music, plays the guitar (poorly) and believes that John Prine is greatest songwriter of all time. One day he hopes to write a song that someone will listen to and perhaps pause for a moment in thought, OR to see an Elephant in real life.
Bob works as a teaching assistant at the Vancouver Film School in the Writing Department. There he shapes young minds. Other jobs Bob has held include Tim Hortons shift supervisor, dishwaser and firefighter.
For $6.99, Bob Woolsey will call your house and leave a hilarious message that alludes to a pre-existing relationship between yourself and Mr. Woolsey. He can say that you are old friends, currently working on a major motion picture project, or simply lovers. Bob accepts all major credit cards.
